Graduation for VHHS seniors is coming up fast. Seniors seem excited to graduate and finally get out of high school, but are their non-senior friends excited?

Classmates in different grades have made connections with seniors whom they love, and these seniors have positively impacted their lives and high school careers so far.
Sophie Farooqui (9) shared that water polo senior Violet Bossler has had an impact on her
first year of high school.
“[Bossler] has given me a new perspective on how high school friendships can go and has shown me that one tiny moment doesn’t set a precedent for the rest of my life,” Farooqui said.
According to Farooqui, Bossler made water polo and her school day more enjoyable. Farooqui was able to connect to Bossler since Bossler constantly supported her and was a good friend and teammate.

“There’s so much I’ll miss about Violet, but I think the biggest would be the way her energy could lift any mood,” Farooqui said. “No matter how I feel through the school day, Violet has an instantaneous effect, making practice so much more enjoyable.”
Gil Liandisha (10) was impacted by a senior on the VHHS cheer team, Caity Dodson.
“[Caity] brought cheer back into my life,” Liandisha said. “She was the one who convinced me to get back into cheer and is the reason why I’m on one of my favorite teams ever.”
He explained that Dodson has made high school better for him through her fun personality and her support.
Julia Romosan (11), who is involved in Backlight Theatre Company, talked about how senior Jonathan Protus, who she met through the play “Hadestown: Teen Edition,” had an immense impact on her.

“I’ve never had a sad or boring day that wasn’t fixed by being around [Protus] and I’ll forever miss that,” Romosan said. “He’s so insanely talented, and I can say confidently that he’s left a big mark on Backlight and all the people who know him.”
