Varsity volleyball team

Boys’ sports

 

  • Baseball-Brennan Reback (12)

 

      • Key Players: Reback, Drew Winegardner (12), Antonio Brown (10), Brad Larsen (12), Ryan Larsen (12), and Joe Rangel (12).
      • Goals: To win first sectional.
      • Challenges: The new IHSA pitching rules.
      • Hardest Opponent: Crossover games against the bigger schools.

 

  • Boys Lacrosse-Brennen Tolari (11)

 

      • Key Players:  Tolari, Spencer Fortman (11), Jake Olive (10), Joey Levitan (10), and John Dosemagen (10).
      • Goals: To make a nice little run in the state playoffs.
      • Challenges: It’s a new conference so we really don’t know a lot about our opponents.
      • Hardest Opponent: New Trier.

 

  • Boys Tennis-Aakash Setty (12)

 

      • Key Players: Setty, Harsha Namburi (12), and Matthew Nguyen (11).
      • Goals: To win regionals because our new conference is going to be extremely tough.
      • Challenges: New conference.
      • Hardest Opponent: Glenbrook North, Glenbrook South, and New Trier.

 

  • Boys Track & Field-James Hommer (12)

 

      • Key Players: Hommer, Mcnemon Vincent (12), Timothy Krashevsky (12), and Kacper Jaskowski (12)
      • Goals: To win sectionals again.
      • Challenges: Rebuilding after losing a lot of seniors last year.
      • Hardest Opponent: Deerfield.

 

  • Boys Volleyball-Drake DeBoer (11)

 

      • Key Players: DeBoer, Jake Fiarito (12), and Jacob Adkisson (12)
      • Goals:  To beat Barington in the regional or sectional final.
      • Challenges: Rebuilding after losing a lot of talented players such as Jayred Bennet and Johnny McDonald.
      • Hardest Opponent: Glenbard West and New Trier.

 

  • Boys Water Polo-Jason Palmer (12)

 

    • Key Players: Palmer and Declan Kelleher (12)
    • Goals: To get more people to try out for the team and develop those whom we already have.
    • Challenges: Not having a lot of experience. Hopefully, this will be a successful building year.
    • Hardest Opponent: New Trier

Girls’ sports

 

  • Girls Lacrosse-Amanda Tsao (12)

 

      • Key Players: Tsao, Sarah Demas (12), Akvile Petrauskaite (12), Annie Wang (11), Kelsey Carido (12), and Taylor Phan (10).
      • Goals: Having a winning season.
      • Challenges: Being in a new conference with some of the best teams in the state.
      • Hardest Opponent: New Trier.

 

  • Girls Soccer-Becky Bahlmann (12)

 

      • Key Players: Bahlmann, Alex Ludolph (10), Julia Neary (10), Ziggy Jezorski (10), Katie Burrows (12), and Sammie Biede (12).
      • Goals: Winning conference and make it past regionals
      • Challenges: “No challenges. We’re a fun group and are very accepting of everyone and all ages.  You can’t tell when someone is a freshman or a senior on our varsity team.”
      • Hardest Opponent: Deerfield, New Trier, and Glenbrook South.

 

  • Girls Track & Field-Jordyn Bunning (11)

 

      • Key Players: Bunning, Emily Kim (9), Payton Makowskyj (10), Abby Heinz (11), Raeden Mays (10), Michelle Zhang (12), and Lauren Katz (11).
      • Goals: To win a third sectional in a row and qualify as many people for State as possible.
      • Challenges: Staying healthy and peaking at sectionals/state.
      • Hardest Opponent: Since we’re in a new conference, any team race will be challenge because we haven’t raced a lot of these teams before.

 

  • Girls Water Polo-Erin Blase (12)

 

    • Key Players: Blase, Blair Haberman (12), Emilia Pranica (12), Arden Floom (12), Katie Clayson (12), Diana Castro (11).
    • Goals: To win games and learn new plays.
    • Challenges: Not losing every game since there are not many experienced players that tryout.
    • Hardest Opponent: Unknown (new conference)
